Things To Do And Places To Play
Why would someone want to freeze in the frigid cold and snow in the Northern United States or Canada when the opportunity exists to plan a “business trip” or vacation around one of the best philatelic destinations in North America? One may come up with a couple of reasons to stay in the cold but I bet they are not as fun as the Valley of the Sun.
Below one will find links to four different destinations in sunny Arizona. The first two are where the show is being held, which is in Mesa, Arizona and adjacent Phoenix. Just 120 miles south is Tucson, where there are caverns to explore, 300 year old cathedrals, a National Park, three National Monuments and many resort spas…. and yes, a great philatelic destination not to be missed – the Postal History Foundation and 50 feet away the Peggy J. Slusser Memorial Philatelic Library. They are located at 920 N. 1st Avenue in Tucson, Arizona.
For those that come in early or stay late on one of those “business trips” or that vacation, Tucson is an excellent and an easily accomplished day trip from Mesa, Arizona.
For those with more time and for an adventure there is Page Arizona on Lake Powell at the central border of Utah and Arizona, 5 hours away. Page is the gateway to an unbelievable 7 National Parks and several other National Monuments and a National Recreation Area.
For online information, please visit the Phoenix Convention Bureau, the Mesa Convention and Visitor’s Bureau or the Tucson Convention Bureau or Page Arizona (very special destination)
